Es gibt viele Gründe, Angst zu haben, zu jeder Jahreszeit. Der Herbst aber, der tagsüber oft freundlich tut, erwischt einen abends eiskalt. Die hohen Häuser in der Josefstadt halten schon früh jedes Licht aus den Gassen fern, und wenn man die Sonne untergehen sehen will, muss man auf einen der umliegenden Hügel fahren, auf den Leopoldsberg, auf den Kahlenberg, auf den Hermannskogel. Als ich hier ankam, kannte ich diese Hügel noch nicht.
